Looking for a Briggs and Stratton Engine

Restoring a Sidekick and I would like to put a period engine on it. I am looking for a 3 or 4 HP Briggs and Stratton engine between the years 1960-63. Thanks

pretty sure i might have what you need,i have 4 of these b&s motors complete,they run too,with air cleaners n all.
these are very old,as far as i can tell,metal fuel lines,design of air cleaners,etc etc.
can you teach me how-to id the age of the motors?

Unfortunately, this does not apply to our older engines as this tracking system was not implemented until 1965. For engines made BEFORE 1965, there would typically be a Model, Type and Serial number. For a more information on these engines, view the following website:

You see the date as the first two digits in the code number. It goes Model, Type and Code.
