mikuni vm22 carb help

This carb is on my quad and cranked and idled fine on cold start but wouldn't idle when I've been riding for like 10 min. So I took it off and cleaned it out for it did have trash in it and now it wont crank and is pouring out gas out the overflow hose. Any suggestions on how its suppose to be set up

The float needle seat has crud in it. Those floats are junk. Clean out the little rubber tipped needle valve under the float, be careful of that little spring that holds the needle to the float. If you lose it good luck on finding a new one. You may also have the choke backward. Down is off and up is on.

The only reason I say that because that's where I had issues when I first tuned my Mikuni.

Also buy a descent fuel filter to avoid issues with this in the future. I learned the hard way, apparently to make it easier for others.
