Mini Drag Bike?

#1
I've almost got my 2017 OldMiniBikes Build-off bike done (a little late, I know) and I'm already thinking about next years. I was just curious if anybody actually drag races mini bikes. I've seen a few that are built like hey might go in a straight line pretty well but, is it actually a thing or is it more just people messing around and building them because they thought it looked cool. Doesn't make much difference because I don't plan on traveling very far to race. Just curious. If so, what's a good 1/4 mile goal? Thanks!

I wonder if anybody else around here would do that. It'd look kinda strange for me, 245 lbs 5'11'' guy to line up on a drag mini bike against these little 5 to 10 year olds with their juniors dragsters. I wonder if the strip would even let run. Has anybody ever built one? What kind of drive train did you use?

There are a bunch of these guys doing this in southern CA. They used to contribute to a very long thread here, but no longer post. If you are on Face Book, some of them hang out there. There are a bunch who street race in Compton as well. Pretty serious bikes as far as mini bikes go.

Look at you tube for some videos after the appropriate search. Some of them racing at Barona on the strip are using those "slow flatheads." Mid 8's at 85 in the eighth.

Here's a Tecumseh Star Powered Bike
