I piece of pipe would look good welded in there.

i would cut it out, put in a U pipe to allow for frame flex.

I havent been able to take pictures due to lack of time so here they are. I welded up the cuts and ground it all smooth.

Here are some pictures of me welding on the new axle brackets. I lifted the frame 1" and moved the axle back 1" so I could fit bigger tires. You can see the new bracket vs the old bracket in the picture below.

Be careful welding without sleeves. Trust me, I have burnt myself crispy enough times to know better.

Sence I moved the axle I had to move the brake attachment back with it. You can see where the old mount was I still have to cut it off.

I decided to make my own forks to lift up the front. I didnt think that it was worth cutting and adding some pipe to the old ones.
