Mystery Pliers

I found these pliers a number of years ago. I could never figure what their special purpose is.

I've only ever used them for one certain task.

Any guesses what that certain task is?

That makes perfect sense! And that's probably what they actually were made for.

But any guesses, minibike related, as to what I use them for?

removing the caps on the valve stem? haha Im way off.

I would use them as a Fuel line / hose puller OR spark plug cap puller.

All pretty good guesses.

But the thing I've used them for was always a pain in the rear. After I started using them, I had absolutely no issues.

Ok, ok....

So here's what I use them for...

Aiding in the installation of the master link in the chain. Hook each end of the chain link, squeeze and it holds it in position perfectly to install the master link.

Installing the two ends of the chain and master link using the rear sprocket works for me, but I like your idea.

yep, I just wrap them onto the rear sprocket and then pop in the master link. Never had an issue with it that way.

Fuel line and hose yes :thumbsup: and I have used them as plug boot pliers too but they make a better plier for that :thumbsup:

Thats what I usually do, But some Have the tire close to the sprocket and the link has to be inserted from the back. I sometimes use tie wire to pull the chain. I was considering making a similar tool for that reason.

I have a pair of those to. Usually use them for plug wires and hose. But I have used them to fish dropped nuts out of tight spots.

They make chain pliers I have a pair I use at work all the time.
