Need some help from the pros

#1
Ok, I need some help. I put a mild Dyno Cam in my 6.5hp clone, closed it back up and tried to fire it up. It takes many, many pulls to get it to start and it will only run for a short time. I did lign up the dot on the can and the one on the crank up, so it should be in time but what else should I have done to fix this issue I'm having? Thanks in advance for the help.

check valve lash. I'd bet its a bigger base circle and maybe holding the valves open a tiny bit. i dunno, just thinking of what has changed with the addition of cam only, and you say its installed correctly, must be holding the valves open then.

Will setting the lash fix that? And how do you do that? Sorry if these are dumb questions.
well, you will have to remove the thing you say "no" to in your sig and under there will be some rockers, rotate motor and adjust the gap between the valve stem top and rocker to specs, I think intake is .002 and exhaust .003
