New z50 copy mini bike

Hello,

It is impossible to know which of the Chinese manufacturers made that engine but I have seen some ugly pictures of center case cracking around bearing mounts inside the engine. It seems that the engine center cases cannot take the pounding of being up-sized in cubic centimeters.

Also understand that you will get very little Chinese manufacturer parts support, usually no shop manual exists, and your local Honda dealer parts counter will be of zero help for replacement parts. These bikes merely look like a Honda and most similarities end there.

It's way easier than you think Rick, it has the manufacturers name "Lifan" written on the side cover. Lifan Honda clone engines have actually proven to hold up fairly well over time if you don't ask too much from them. If the engine goes bad on these out of warranty you just buy one from Ebay and ride on.

Hello all, just wanting to get peoples thoughts on this mini bike?
It's a modern style z50, 125cc engine. Still looks very similar to the older mini bike.

This one is a 110cc version

Was thinking about going and checking one out, see what the quality is like.
Dont do it! Run as fast as you can! 1) Those Chinese bikes are $1000 for a 125cc 4 speed motorcycle for a reason. They are made from the absolute most horrible metal, you are putting your life on the line everytime you ride a bike like that. I had a friend that had a Z50 replica that was actually made better than the one you are questioning. Long story short, the front brake caliper rattled loose and when he hit his brakes, the play in the brakes snapped the caliper off like it was nothing! Somehow the front brake didnt lock up and send him over the bars onto his face (open face helmet) at 40mph! 2) Resale value.. Once that thing rattles apart and you're sick of fixing it every ride, it will be worth about $400 on craigslist.. as long as the engine case didnt break off of the frame. 3) Honda is the only one who can make a Z50...
