The Northern Lights see strange sights, Of the men who mole for gold. Each Arctic trail has a secret tale, That would make your blood run cold. Now Sam McGee was from Tennessee, Where the cotton blooms and boles.................... Robert Service

Robert Service was a truly great poet. The name of that piece is 'The Creamation of Sam McGee'. Lived in Alaska......At one time his picture was used in an Alaskan Airlines ad. I learned the poem in Jr. High School [about 1953]. Another great one by him is: "I've clenched and closed with the frozen North, I've learned to defy and defend. Shoulder to shoulder we've fought it out, But the wild must win in the end". He did not write frivolous crap; his writings were bold and real.
