Something weird about that motor, the shroud has the cut-out for the offset plug but it has the later style head with the centered plug. Either the head was swapped or the tins were swapped or maybe Tecumseh was just using up the old tins on the newer motors.

I saw that too, but figured 64 was a transition year. Maybe you're right and they were just using up old parts before moving to the new stuff.

couple I have owned, none of them had the offset plug but the shroud had the notch

this one was a 1963


and a later 1962
