Predator gas tank / throttle linkage help

So I test fitted the Predator on the Thunderbird and the gas cap can’t be removed. The Thunderbird has a gas tank. What needs to do done to take off the tank and still use the stock throttle linkage? Do I need a top plate? Any help will be appreciated.

Nothing, just take the tank off. You will need to adapt the 1/4" fuel line from the existing tank to the 3/16" line on the Pred carb. I use a filter to adapt mine

A top plate will eliminate the governor.

Ok Thanks. Wasn’t sure if I took the tank off it would affect the throttle linkage.

Works fine with the tank off, if you eliminate the governor, you can cut down the stock top plate, or get an aftermarket one.

A trick I use to adapt the fuel line is to buy vacuum caps, snip the end off and slip it in the line as a sleeve. Works perfect.

Evol. Nice bike!! How do you like the exhaust? Is it loud?

Yeah it's pretty "Evol" sounding, with the mods done to the engine, it idles like a Harley,kinda like rump rump rump. And when you open the throttle it's pretty loud. It's a pit bike so sound isn't really a big thing.
