I talked to that guy last year at Iola. He owns a chrome shop, and said he had about 1000 hours into that thing, and to replicate it would cost around 5 grand. I love the authentic Cragars... He says he's doing a tiller next.
I asked him how much to plate an engine pull cover and other engine tin, around 100-200 bucks.

That is one nice snowblower! Guys who own chrome shops usually have lots of cool, shiny stuff, but seem to die fairly young and leave a well-preserved corpse.

Tom : Your right my Father was a Plater for many years did it all Anodizing , Cad plating and even Precious metal and of course hard chrome. But when he would get acid burns that would not heal he got out and then later he found out that he was Diabetic.
Nothing like the good chrome but it sure cost a bunch. I have 2 sets of Bonanza finders and a chain guard to do soon.

Sorry 'bout your dad. Is Oregon Plating still in business? They did good work in the past. I have some parts that need plating, but I haven't had any done in so long I'm not sure where to go.
