I'm in the market for a sound bar for our tv in our living room.

Never had one before and don't really know much about them.

Looking for some helpful hints from those of you who have them currently.

Should I get one with a sub woofer, wireless, brand names??

Thanks!

get one with a sub. i found a new one at goodwill for super cheap. i forget the brand now but it worked well. dont worry about wireless speakers, but bluetooth is great to play pandora from your phone

I got an inexpensive sound bar to go with the TV in my travel trailer. I skipped the sub to save space, but it still sounds much better than the TV alone. If I had more room I'd get one with a sub. And a bigger TV. And a bigger trailer.

The only advice I have is get on with speaker covers. Mine was designed with no speaker covers and all the little kids love to stick there fingers on the speakers :hammer:

I picked one up for my son for Christmas. It's a Samsung, I believe it was $180-ish. Works great, the bluetooth to connect to your phone is cool... but I used the digital audio cable ( fiber audio cable) from the tv to hook to the sound bar. I would get one with the sub woofer... if really completes the experience, like when you're watching a movie or if you hook a gaming console (xbox etc.) you get the rumbling effect. Very cool, I think we are going to pick one up for the living room as well.

In recently upgraded to a new TV (Panasonic 60" smart TV) and had the same question about the sound bar. Do I even need one with a new TV? At the store I asked the question and the sales guy shut the sound bar off and cranked the TV volume up as high as it would go and you could barely hear the TV. He turned the TV volume back down and kicked in the sound bar with sub and it was awesome. I bought the matching Panasonic sound bar/sub set up to go with my new TV and I'm very happy with it. Well worth the $.

FYI, There may be some deals around Super Bowl time. Stores usually put TV's and accessories on sale around then.

All new tvs need a sound bar as the led tv has no room for good speakers , sound quality is terrible on all new TV IMO , I bought the big Vizio sound bar at Wally World for about $100 and love it , I didn't get the sub woofer and feel no need for it !
