starting hf blue clone

I recently purchased a HF blue clone for 79.99 plus tax (20% off coupon):thumbsup:. two questions though, (1) everytime is start it i have to full choke it, whether it's warm or cold. is this because the carburator is set up too lean? (2) when the engine is running full throttle, it surges. no other rpm just full throttle (approx 3600rpm). what are a few possible causes. great site btw!!!

for the most part I need to use the choke cold or hot, that is unless I restart it just after shutting it off....no worries there. The surging sounds more like the governor is kicking in, again, no worries. JMO

Clones are set way lean from the factory. You have to replace the main jet, or bore the existing one out a bit. Check out this link.Affordable Go Karts - How to drill the main jets
