Starting Swap

I haven't posted in a while and finally got a HF clone for about $100 the other day. My son stripped the engine and rear wheel off. Its flat and needed to take off the brake disk to get to the valve. I am going to sylme both tires and try to get a new disk from Baja if the ever answer the phone or get the web site working.

I sent and email to cjtmini to purchase the mounting kit. I'm looking forward to the rebuild. We had fun with it even with the stock engine. Once I got it up to speed with my 250lbs I had a blast.

You can fill the rear tire with an adapter or compressed air fitting. It was dumb they did it that way. :eek:ut:

I wouldn't use slime because those tires wear quickly and it's a mess when changing tires. A tube is the best way to go.

Ran in to a problem with the swap. Cjtmini was looking at my posted photos and noticed that MY bug is the old style and his adapter plate won't work on my bug. Bad things always happen to me. Anyway, I will be getting the parts I need minus the plate.

My son called me and told me the new brake disk and brake lever came in so this weekend I will be getting the engine bolted up and the brake back on while I wait for the swap parts. BTW, the new brake disk is a "star" pattern and is easier to get to the valve. I ordered a new chain but it was on backorder.
