Super metal?

#1
Im setting up the throttle on my 5 horse Tec but i cannot drill into the throttle arm so i can put a wire stop in for the throttle cable. My bits are brand new but they just dance on top of the metal and wont dig at all.
Am i mising something here?

a rule of thumb, if you can nick it with a file you can drill it, if the file glides over it without nicking it the metal is hardened..

I tried to nick it with a file like 125cc said and it wouldnt leave a single mark. How do i hook up a throttle cable now? How has no one else run into this problem?

What part are you trying to drill into? I can't imagine what would be made of hardened steel. Is this a surplus engine from NASA?

I would buy a speficillaly desinged metal drill bit, i use Rigid drill bits, and they dig like crazy,

just go to your local hardware store and get a metal cutting bit, and youll be fine,
