Tecumseh Motor -- Tapered Shaft?

Anyone know if this motor will have a tapered shaft? It's on a maxa? generator.

I'm thinking about getting it for parts for my HM 80 but would love to just swap it out if it can be done easily.

If it is on a generator then more than likely the crankshaft is tapered. Plus, for about $40 bucks less you can get the same engine, BRAND NEW. You would still have to change a few things however, like the crank and some throttle linkage as this one is designed to run at a single speed.

I have finally ordered one of the engines posted above.

I broke down and did it. Going to see how it looks in person. Going to swap out my HM80 parts into it.

yes that will be a tapered shaft....and most likely worn out. Those things were rod knockers. Get that new one Mark linked to , unbelieveably good deal there.

Yeah, I think I'm gonna go that route. I have a HM80 with straight crank shaft, will I be able to swap it out, or should I take it to a machine shop and turn it down to the correct size?

I guess that is assuming that there is enough meat to turn to the size I need....
