Vintage - Similar to Rupp - What is it?

Do you think it might have been a lower power version without the torque converter,
no front brake?

Found this picture, nice!

It could be..they made a couple versions. And like most bikes..you had a cheaper version..and a deluxe version. But I believe that all had torque converters. Yours was probably removed and sold or was broke. They were the same as a Rupp converter. Lord only knows. I am sure one of the officials will chime in eventually.

Their website shows that they are simply a motorcycle repair shop, no mention of the Taiwanese bikes badged Gemini anywhere on their many internet spots.

Ebay and the classifieds here are your best bet for the correct parts if they come up. I've seen a few over the years, they are not terribly rare but not plentiful either.

A buddy of mine has a Hodaka powered Gemini but it's the trail bike style with fold down bars but I have been unable to buy it for years, he knows he has a fairly rare machine. I like the style you posted better although I do not recall if any were Hodaka powered from the factory, I suppose someone could have bought a Super Frame and installed one since the engines were popular and available back then. That styling with the Ace 100 four speed setup would be a formidable machine. Yep.
