Well, in the ever elusive search for a simplex….

I stumbled on to this….it had been listed for a bit, it was very close, so I sort of low balled him and he accepted…never expected it…he was a nice guy….several other minis…its going to be fun I think….its a VT3 to mate up with the VT7….probably going to put that new hs50 on it eventually…. But if a nice simplex comes along it could be trade fodder….no attachments yet.

Looks to be in really great shape. Won't be anything at all to pull that predator and make it a proper trail bike again. Congrats!

Try castor oil (NOT Castrol). Castor oil is an ingredient in many polymers/plastics/nylons. Give it a heavy coating and let it sit in a warm area for a few days before wiping it off. If you notice an improvement, repeat a few more times. I think this could have only a positive effect but, just to be cautious, test on an inconspicuous spot first.

The only way paint will work on a plastic tank, you have to line the inside first (Caswels, Redkote or something similar). Otherwise the gas fumes will leech through the plastic and end up under the paint, lifting and bubbling it.
Those are fun little bikes, that one's real clean!! That HS50 looks right at home there.

If you keep the bike you may want to look into different tires. The squared off edges make it a little less enjoyable to ride/turn. At one of our annual Heald rides, I was lucky enough to ride both of Ricks VT-5's. One was an all original bike (og tires, HS50, etc) and the other one had later model, rounded edge tires in the same size and the difference was amazing. It convinced me to go the same route on a VT-5 I've been restoring (forever, seems like)
