Whats this Honda wire thing?

I KNOW this GX160 aint got lights.. Does it? Why the resister block? I looked it over somewhat, appears to just be the one wire going into the shroud area, which would suggest just a kill wire, and it hooks to the kill switch, plus the yellow wire is obviously some kind of low oil shutoff, and it all seams to be hooked together.. So I'm pretty sure it's just a non lighted, everything goes to the kill system..

So whats the resister block for?? Why would it need that??

It must be an old Honda engine. That could be a ballast resistor to drop the ignition voltage once the engine is running. Modern engines do not require a ballast resistor.

Find a wiring diagram for your older engine or a shop manual. Either one should answer this question with certainty.
