11hp honda gx340 crankshaft Q.

I'm rebuilding a honda GX340 for my dad. I am fixing his rototiller for father's day.


It's an 11 HP honda motor. I have a question

I had to order an overhaul kit, which is a new piston, connecting rod, and gaskets.

I also ordered a new crankshaft. I know the crankshaft has to line up with the camshaft, but when I put in the new crankshaft, do I need to line it up with anything?

The camshaft and balancer shaft are both timed to the crankshaft. I'll post some service information later that will help.

Motra - thank you very much for the help.

I do know that the 2 other shaft dots need to like up with the crankshaft.

but I wonder, does the crankshaft need to line up with anything BEFORE I start to line up the other 2??

I'm going to pull it out (aling with the balancer shaft and camshaft) to replace it.

Just slide the crankshaft in and bolt the rod up to torque spec. Nothing special needs to be done.
