lol i feel like an idiot now but i was on diy kart forum and someone said to look at the cat eyes on the briggs 5hp carb to see if it runs on alky or gas because the sizes of them will tell you
I'm assuming they are referring to the small holes behind the jet.. The larger one is the main metering hole, the smaller one is the idle hole.. those are drilled out for running alcohol..

Sidebar: If they ARE drilled out (oversized) for alcohol that carb cannot be used for gasoline- you need another carb.

take the needle jet assembly out of the carb body and behind that is the brass main jet, unscrew that and you will see a slot with a hole at each end..
