Back dating 4HP Tecumseh

All I can tell you is it didn’t work. The old-style pull start jammed and would not recoil. Same parts or not, it didn’t work on this particular motor. I know this is only one sample size, but that's what happened on this motor.
Wrong style shroud ???

Not sure on the shroud. But the two motors were within a year or three of each other, by the date of manufacturing. You could tell I don’t like tecumseh much....

The motors look nice. Do you have some minibike frames picked-out to put these motors on?
Or what other applications will you use these motors on?
I saw a tavern that had a shiny fully restore Taco parked on the bar to be used as a
conversation piece.

It seems like every Minibike in the Detroit area has its original motor gone. So I started stockpiling old Tecumseh engines. I had to figure out a technique to restore them that worked for me and was efficient. It took a bit of practice
