Belt Drive Clutchs

What are peoples thoughts on belt drive centrifugal clutches do they work well do they slip if they get wet or muddy (not TAVS)

I am talking the centrifugal clutch type not tavs so basically just running your belt from your clutch to a pulley on the rear wheel.

Might have a bit of a problem getting a large enough pulley on the back wheel for a proper gear (or belt) reduction!
