If I'm not mistaken, once all of the time pieces are missing from a Blackwidow, the only thing that still makes it a BW is the serial number. If the serial is missing, it's just a Rupp roller. Could just be a Roadster 2

If the tag is there, get it cleaned up and verify the serial.

Here is my question....As far as the Black Widow goes.....what is special about the serial number that says it is a Black Widow?

Rupp used 20 spoke and 24 spoked wheels in the 12"....and 3 different spoke manufacturers...Some rims from Japan and some from Italy
I don't know that they ever used 20 spoke, but I know they used 24 spoke -- Some Blackwidows had 28 spoke wheels on either the front or back, and in a few cases on both wheels.
