Did I buy the wrong coil?

So I recently bought a small lot of small engines, and one of them is a Briggs 7 horse. I took the cover off and the coil was just laying there with the wire cut to the points behind the fly wheel. I got on eBay and I found this coil (link will be posted below). The new coil fits on the motor just like the original. It just looks different. If I bought the wrong one can you recommend what I need?

You bought a pointless coil, Hook it up without wire to points. The only wire would be the kill switch wire. Should work fine.

But how come there are two wires coming out of the coil?

Because some applications use both a master cut off switch, and a throttle mounted cut off switch.

You just need one of the wires.

I found out that the coil needed to be grounded to produce spark. And one was for the cutoff switch
