DIY Zinc Electro Plating

#1
I was just reading an article on do it yourself zinc plating. It seems like it is very inexpensive to get up and running.

My thoughts were to possibly sand blast and zinc plate some nuts, bolts, washers, and other small objects on mini's to keep the corrosion away.

Does anyone have an interest or tried this already?

I'd like to do some spokes and hubs. It looks pretty straight forward.

Seems like a small initial investment. Maybe 30 bucks or so. Most of the things could probably be found around the house already.

Phil certainly simplified the process. I note from the net that these zinc plates can be purchased on line for about 17 dollars a piece. Different acidic mediums can also be used.

Wow Ogy. That is an awesome read. Thank you for the post.

Around here, there is a minimum of $125.00 or they won't touch your stuff. Seems like it isn't so bad to do small stuff on the garage.

Thanks again,
Pat
