Yes they are required so what about brakes ? You have to know that Dunecycles mad a lot of different machines. Most had band brakes on each side of the differential . But again pictures are needed.

I need a new engine for my origanal dune cycle. Any one know where to look?

Are you looking for a USA made engine like a Tecumseh OHV 6.5 HP ? I have a new one that is Electric start and has a dual amperage alternator and I will sell it for $200.00 plus shipping. I am in Portland, Oregon
