I fought the sissy bar and I think I won?

For those who know how hard it is to find original parts like sissy bars, clutch chain covers, etc. Sometimes you have to improvise and "make your own" out of something else. Well I purchased a sissy bar off of ebay that probably came off of a 70's/80's Honda or Yamaha. With some trimming, bending, cursing :cursing: and slicing my hands up, I got it installed and threw a seat on to see how it would look. It is far from original, but it works for me

I really don't want to do that again, but knowing me, I probably will.:doah:

Ok, where's the bandaids?

Thanks for the warrning. now i will know to wear gloves when i try and fit mine on!..How did you end up mounting it?.
The hardest part was to try to get the bend angle right on the part of the sissy bar that goes under the seat. I tried bending in the vise and test fitting. I got it close and I figured that when I mounted that it would bend to fit when tightened down. Well, one side did the other did not, so I have a gap between the bar and frame on one side. I hate to say it but I drilled holes and used sheet metal screws. I was hesitant to do so because of screwing into the frame. My recomendation to you is to try to mount the seat and sissy bar together first and then use the existing seat pan mounts already on the frame.
