line up the push bolt with the rear oil drain plug on a Briggs engine or any engine with a rear oil drain plug at about the same height it should work on the tecumseh HS engines but not the H engines unless you shim it higher drill two 1/4" mount holes in the motor plate and bolt it down with the push bolt retracted then you are ready to go!!
.
now to adjust your chain just loosen the engine mount bolts a little and screw in the push bolt until the chain is at the tightness you want then tighten down the jam nut on the adjuster body re tighten the engine mount bolts and no amount of chain pull or engine vibration will allow your engine to slide backwards
.
this is for Briggs engines with rear oil drain plugs or engines with the rear plug in about the same height like the Tecumseh hs engines but Not the tecumseh H engines unless you put spacers under the base of the adjuster
you will need 3/4" of motor plate behind the rear oil plug
and air space for the bolt that can stick back as much as 1 3/8 beyond the adjuster when the bolt is fully retracted
I checked it on a Briggs animal and a 5hp raptor
it may work on other engines but you may need to shim it higher and use longer mounting bolts
.
$20 shipped in the usa
