Harley X90 throttle cable issue

Hey everyone,
I am almost done with my restoration but having an issue. When I bought this bike the throttle perch was broken on the bottom where the cable goes into the perch itself---so, I have a new perch and a new cable but looking at it, it just doesn't make any sense. There are NO threads on the end of this throttle cable but there are in the perch---I can't figure out how in the world this goes together---I think I maybe missing a part here but I could be wrong? Anyone know?

maybe that one end in the first pic(by the tire), screws into the throttle? you might have to get rid of that long metal curved piece some how? I think on my throttle, I had to actually take the wire cable out and re route the whole thing all over.
