Front bracket appears to be 5/16". Rear threaded on brake arm appears to be #12x24. 56" cable. Clark cyclone. Is there a close match to original brake cable available?

I came across this method for fastening cable ends: Bowden Control Cables (making, repairing, or modifying control cables) - Looks really good to me, and brass is nice to turn on a lathe when you need to make the ends themselves. Sorry if it has already been discussed here.

I'm going to replace my brake lever and cable assembly. I need a cable housing about 50" long. All I'm finding are longer, with each end having metal cap. Can I cut off the end down at the wheel to the length I need ? It looks like it goes into a socket and would be immobilized and covered.

I bought some 1" Harley throttles and tried to used a 1" mini bike throttle Housing my and it didn't quite work. I bought just the Harley housing for a dual cable and the throttle feril different. I need a 5/16-18 for it. Anyone experience this same issue or know where I can get one.
