Honda Clone Not Starting Right!

Okay...I just bought a Honda Clone 6.5hp OHV from Princess Auto, I put the motor on my bike, it runs, but it doesn't start right. As far as I can see it isn't getting enough gas when I have it idling to warm up. Anybody know what I should do/fix/check/adjust? :shrug:

Not being a smart@ss...most of those clones need the idle adjusted up a lil from the factory. It affects starting and the obvious..idle.

have you tried messing with the choke at all?

Adj. idle screw.
Then see if it run better with the choke on. Play with choke slide. If it runs better with choke on then you need to go up on your fuel jet.
Lastly, let the bike warm up. spray wd40 ( use a straw if the carb. on the gasket areas. If you hit an area with spray and the idle goes up, then you have a gasket leak (common). You will need a gasket kit.

leave the choke on half way untill it warms up , the stock one of mine is that way
