Fastest bike in MA was indeed there today, sadly that bike was not mine lol. The cops threw us out before we could do eliminations.
These were the first full passes I have made on the new clutch setup. I think my bike still has more in it, I need to up the idle speed for more heat in the motor and harder launch.
Thanks so much 1bxmopar for bringing the radar gun.
My first pass was 34mph, then I turned the idle up 1000rpm. Next pass 38mph. I still had more room to go with the idle so I think I could have gone faster plus spinning the tire. The bike needs a little more test and tune but once it's dialed in it should do 40mph. All the fancy electronics on the bike will help me to tune the clutch better.
Congratulations to majunkman (Herb and Son Racing) for running 39mph which is the fastest anyone has run so far in the 100ft!
My 38mph was faster than anyone had gone until that point but Herb and Son put the hurt on me just like last year.
We never got the chance to race side by side but I say they won by running 39mph. I think I could have got the bike to run a little better and give them a race but cops put and end to the festivities. Couldn't have lost to better people, Herb and Son are a class act all the way.
Was great to see everyone again, bummer that we had to move but we made the best of the situation. 1bxmopar it was great of you to make the trip all the way from Brooklyn, thanks for coming and bringing some nice bikes too. It was great to meet you and your son sorry it was cut short but hope you had a decent time.
My Dad couldn't make it either, bummer cause his bike is fast too.
I learned something today:
We need to find a good place to race these bikes where we don't get shut down by the man. I think I made 4 passes, hardly enough to get the bike dialed in properly. Just when all the bikes are warmed up and everyone's ready and excited, bam.
I am more than willing to pay good money to race where it won't get shut down.
All in all I had a fun time, I already changed the oil and flushed the fuel system and took the motor off the bike. Put it away for the winter, will come back next year hopefully faster and quicker than this year.
Thanks again everyone for showing up and making some runs. Some amazing bikes there today some of my favorites.
