It's a '72 H35 with a Balloon decal. I'm not sure when they stopped using the Balloon decals on Mini bikes, but I thought it was in '71. It does have the mini bike correct throttle linkage though, but instead of having a pass-through cable stop, it has a set screw. Hmm, now I'm not sure. You know, they make replacement cable stops. It would be really simple to swap it out.

Honestly, it doesn't change a thing. Noone is ever going to know once it's all cleaned up and installed. I say use it and be happy!

yea its a minibike engine now. i was gonna use it on my rupp since it had the correct vintage throttle. it will get a full rebuild. i like the side covers with bolt on or riveted recoils they just look better.
iv got so many engines now its getting ridiculous now everyone i know knows i collect old lawn equipment they just keep finding me more and more stuff.. i now have more engines than bikes.
just picked up 3 hs50's this h35 a side popper h35 , 2h60 and a couple hondas. all for free and they all run. and an hs40 that fell off a very high shelf and the block exploded but the internals are still good, still had crosshatch in the cylinder and the piston wasnt even dirty. im still crying about that one.
