Hello everyone.
We all know how to calculate top speed of our minis (if not, there are calculators online to help). As fun as that is, it isn't really useful unless you're on the salt flats...
I am working on a project that (will hopefully) be able to calculate acceleration and top speed. Basically I want to know how fast I can go and how far I need to travel to reach that velocity. (Stop me now if this has been done before :thumbsup
I have created a spread sheet that will allow you to input individual data such as rider & bike mass, gear ratios, etc and in the end I will get and out puts of X mph @ X feet. Then, with slight adjustments to the gear ratios (maybe remove some weight from the rider :wink
you can find what theoretically would suit you best for different riding situations like a road course race tack vs flat track oval or race tracks with different length straights.
NOTE: I am not including variables such as rolling resistance, wind resistance, etc. These are still just mini bikes. I do plan on including the mechanical efficiency of the clutch if I can find that information.
I am about 80% done; however, I have run into one major road bump. I can not seem to find any quality dyno charts. There's an article title BATTLE OF THE CLONES @ kartspartsdepot but the image isn't clear enough to take any numbers from. If anyone out there has any dyno charts/tables of preferably 6.5 clones with intake, re-jetting headers and cam mods it would be greatly appreciated if you could PM me.
I will make the excel file available once it's done and I can confirm it's fairly accurate.
Thank you in advance,
Linkin
