Holmes, Ali, Frazier, Foreman, the true classics. Somehow, I never included Lennox Lewis with these skillful, powerful boxers.
He really was a well spoken, skillful boxer.
He was at the end of an era.
The Hit man, Hands of Stone, Sugar Ray, Marvelous Marvin, Kenny Norton, Jelly bean. My favorite fight, one I remember most, or most surprising was watching Buster Douglas chop Mike Tyson down out of nowhere.

I have been watching old fights on You Tube this winter. I watched Jerry Quarry take a beating from Big George the other night. It was pretty brutal, because Quarry kept refusing to fall down.
OK if you can remember Butterbean, then you may be able to remember another fighter of the same starting era that was Tall Lanky Redneck (Kid Rock looking but stronger) dude that hit like freight train. Knocked guys out and fought weird, like bouncy up and down throwing from weird angles.
He got killed in a pickup truck shooting in the south, but cannot remember the guys name.
Would have been on EPSN Friday night fights back in the day.
EDIT ; I should have mentioned the mystery redneck was not heavyweight, probably middle.
He was a heavy hitter, but I never could watch him, or the dirty, cheating Holyfield.
The Spinks brothers made me totally stop watching boxing.
George Foreman reinventing himself into a nice guy was a real inspiration. Love Big George!
