It's a 33 Ford with a 53 Dodge hemi engine, 4 spd. Richland trans, original Columbia Two-Speed rear axle out of a 1940 Ford, 39 Lincoln Zephyr front brakes, six-pac of Stromberg '97' carbs, stock interior. Was painted in the mid 1970s. The car was originally hotrodded by installing a 283 Chev and a PowerGlide. I got it from a guy that took it completely apart and redid the firewall to put in a Buick 'Nail head' engine. As i happed to have a little Dodge hemi I installed it. I put it back together but left the old paint alone....it's good enough. Has Bias Ply Firestone tires on early 16 inch ford steel wheels with 38 Mercury hub caps [it would be ignorant to put East LA radial tires and goofy alloy wheel on an old survivor hot-rod from the 70s]. I had a 65 c30 back in the 80's. That thing had a small 6 in it, was slow as a turtle, but it felt like it would pull a house. This V8 66 with a dump bed should be handy around the property. We are talking about building a stake bed camping cabin on top of it.

Do not judge me, I just dragged it home.
This is a treasure from a friend's yard.

66 C10, dump bed, 327 4 speed runs good.
Rare power steering and power brakes. No AC, but this was the first year AC was available.
Don't be ashamed of that LOL. I've been on the hunt for a 50's-60's heavy truck to drop down and do a rat rod theme.. that thing is cool as hell...

I do respect your opinion.
My idea of motivation includes gasoline fumes and RPM. While I do have experience with diesel and I do understand the torque might be required in certain industries, I believe in using gearing and revs to achieve my goals.
However, I do know where there is a Detroit V6-53 for sale...

Apologies. I couldn't resist the temptation.

Building a reliable work truck does not include trying to break driveline parts.

I am running into some drama with the squatter who is waiting for a title in the mail. She claims she needs a truck to drive right now. I agreed to trade my running 89 4x4 for this truck when she gets the title. She seems to think she can use my truck while I get this one put back together for her or some equally false idea.
I towed it back to my buddy's place, where he is trying to have her evicted for not paying rent. If she leaves it there, I might try again.
