predator problem with pic

Hi all. I tried to search for this problem but couldn't find anything. the lever in the pic with the red arrow use to move back and forth very easily. I would move it back and it would return to it original position.

now it does not return to its original position AND the whole lever moves up and down now.

when I start the mini bike, it just goes to full throttle with out any twist of the throttle and wants to take off instantly.

any ideas on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated. thanks

The spring on the arm looks shot to me. A little WD40 wouldn't hurt.:laugh: That would be the rusty spring.

If the arm is loose, it may have slipped on the governor arm in the case??

Oh no. So if that lever is connected to governor, that explains wide open throttle on starting. Sounds like the case has to opened to fix it?? I hope someone can confirm this. If that is the case and I have to open up engine, I might as well get rid of governor and put in new flywheel, eh?

The screw may have just come loose on the lever. ut:

I agree the screw probrobly fell out. no need to open it up
