PVC Pipe Frame

I made a bike frame from pvc and pvc cement. Ill try to dig up pictures but i have no idea where i put them, The trick was to use lots of joint peices. it made it Somewhat stronger. But it didnt last to long before it broke lol

Just split the pvc pipes and slide over a steel frame tubing and glue it back up.

I would say go for it .... but in my experience pvc dose not break clean -it breaks sharp. Do you want to be rolling to a stop with a bunch of pvc daggers? :death:

wrap the pvc with carbon fiber or kevlar cloth and resin. or just research the actual carbon fiber tubing.

Pvc shatters like a grenade, make sure you have good insurance not just for you but anyone close when it shatters.

Could I fill the inside of the PVC with great stuff (spray foam stuff) to strengthen the pipe?

I'm a huge fan of messin' around but.......
You could certainly spend your hard earned money more wisely than buying PVC pipe and having it last for weeks instead of years like a normal mini.
Plus the safety factor should be considered.

If you have to find ways to strenghten the material so you can use it, then you probably shouldnt!!!

Reading the link on those pedal pvc carts they have steel in the main subframe for support

filling it may help rigidity but if wont stop splintering. if ya really wanna do it wrap it with something stronger and find a compatible epoxy/resin to bond to the PVC.
