Found this lil beauty today. All original and all there. Even has small leather tassles on the ends of the shaft by the recoil. Gonna be a great restore. Not sure I will use it for a minibike. I may restore it as a mower. Has great compression but not a flicker of life in the spark category. Does anyone have REO experience? Anything to watch out for?

How cool does that look? Like a visitor from the 50's.

The output shaft on those comes from the cam shaft, only turning at half the crank shaft speed and turning in the opposite direction.

Not all models have output shafts that run off the Cam in the opposite direction;and this is not one of them; this was one of my first mini bike engines 49 years ago

Really? I too had read it was getting its drve from the cam shaft. At a 2:1 reduction at that. I will most likely restore and sell as a mower but it might be nice to have the option of throwing it on a bike.
