Definitely a neat specimen on that auction site, but it looks like a custom-restomod to me and not anything authentic to the time period.

I mean it's polished and buffed out the wazoo leading me to think that it's just bling but I must admit I don't really know what I am looking at. Is it a representation of a factory-fresh kart (a time capsule) that was just brought home from the vendor? Are the bling parts "factory premium" parts that actually came with a high polish or the builder was mimicking that? The ad copy does not mention restored but only refurbished, leaving it rather open-ended.

They definitely were not like this kart when they came out of the Rupp factory. I don't know why the fuel tank is painted, they came flash chromed from Rupp, the tank may have had repair work done that chrome would have exposed the repair. It's a beautiful kart, all of the karts that Marco puts on BAT are over the top. Marco's karts are wall hangers. There is a NAPA auto parts store in Auburn or Roseville CA that has a collection of restored vintage karts hanging from the ceiling and on top of his display shelving. I have never seen this collection, only pictures posted on the internet.
