Scrub Brake for Kids

I need your honest opinion ! I'm building a little mini bike for my youngest grandsons 4 & 5 year olds..and there use to riding there little peddle bikes that have brakes by pushing backwards on the pedals.
So what would you put on there mini ? Scrub brake, clutch brake or something else ? :shrug:

I would do a scrub and a clutch brake. Riders that are inexperienced seem to always want to grab something on the handlebars...give 'em a plan B with the scrub!

At 4 and 5, they haven't developed any riding habits to worry about changing.

Low power bikes with light riders do okay with scrubs.

Clutch brake is better, but those little kids don't have a lot of Kung Fu grip going on yet. At that age, simple is probably better. You can always upgrade.

At 4 & 5 their hands may not be big enough for a lever on the bars.

You could do a foot controlled clutch brake. Might be the best of both worlds
