SCUMBAG's FLaT TRaCK Homage

#1
Picked up this Frame about 6 months ago,
I thought, if all goes well,
I could make a MiNi Bike Homage, to a Legendary Flat Tracker.

1st I had to ace the 5" rims,
and cut off the fenders to make room for bigger wheels

It's a small frame.
By looking at the top picture,
it became clear, the rear wheel had to be moved back (about 5 inches)
to make room for the bigger rims.
Also, to create the better ride, the seat back needed to move back as well.
(So I 'grinded' those rear axle tabs off too)

This being my 1st build from scratch (with no fabrication experience),
I asked my Pops for his help.
He can build anything,
and he took my Frame lengthening request,
and casually hit a Grand Slam!

Now Thats what I'm TaLk'n AbouT

There is only one color this MiNi can Be,
and that's Wood Racing RED.

By MY standards,
I nailed the Tank!
(not bad timing for my best stray painting job ever!!)

Those old wheels cleaned up nicely.
I decided to go with 6 to 1 gear ratio, 12/72 sprockets.
Eventually i'll get some new tires, but for now,
these will work for CannonBall'n the Neighborhood.

My good friend Pat 'Dr MiNi' Hogan & Have been Marinating and working on this project the whole time Together...

Our other mini's are pretty Fast & Squirrely,
Kinda outa bounds for most kids.
The goal for this Mini, from the beginning, was something well balanced, with just the right amount of power that my BMX riding 9yr old Niece can schralp on...
After much info searching and measuring, we decided on a 3.5 HP Briggs (5.25 ft Torque).
(had to find one with the tank ON TOP of the carb, so we could easily Take it off and hook up our tank.

Found this Little Guy for $154

(the Pipe Had to Go up, to Miss the wheel)

You cant hear it, but that mini RLV muffler($20) sounds real nice!
