Tecumseh 3.5 - No Shaft?

So if it has shaft listed as "none", what are these types of engines used for?

I see that it is threaded into the case, so i'm assuming it's a very small shaft.

could one remove a shaft out of an older tired 3.5 and slap it in here? Even though it's a side dump exhaust, it's still pretty cheap.

Must be for a water pump or generator purpose.. Yeah you could swap the crank, as long as it's the rite one..

yeah i wonder if they meant to say NOS instead of NO. They do list it as Used though.
N/m, I think they meant to say NO shaft extension, as listed down in the specs.

Too bad its a side popper. They had those for a couple of years know, Now shaft on it is weird. But that Tecumseh for yeah, They did all kinds of stupid crank shafts sizes for Sears and other equipment manufacturers.

Yeah the edger engines went to step shafts so they are not on my radar anymore, I do still check the older ones. They had 5/8 keyed no step and although most are side poopers they still make a decent engine with some creative plumbing or a header custom built.:thumbsup:
