The Best Guitarist You've (probably) Never Heard Of!

I'm so glad I finally found this version on Youtube. I have it on CD in my shop but I could never find the full 12 minute version online. Definitely in my top 5.
Both of those guitarists are long gone, unfortunately. As good as that is, I have always preferred the original recording. I was in my early twenties when it was released and blasted it many times. I still listen to it occasionally and it still sounds fantastic.

Michael Schenker….Waaaay back when he was a young up and coming rock guitarist, his first paying gig was when he was around 14/15 years old...That gig was with his brother Rudolph's band....The "Scorpions"...He's well into his 60's now and still performing...While he was in the band "UFO" his last album with them was their live album titled "Strangers in the Night"...That album is considered to be a top 5 ALL TIME live recorded album...

Jay Fortin from Scissorfight

They play in dropped A with really fat strings. It’s hard to play that way and he just kills it
Also Paul Jarvis the bass player is an absolute beast

There are so many guitarists out there with other-worldly skill that play music that I would guess that most of the folks on here never listen to. These guys play classical, flamenco and other styles. Watching them play, as a guitarist (and drummer) myself, makes me want to sell all my music gear and buy a Kazoo.

Anyway, for the rock/blues genre, I submit one of the best is James Burton. Not many will know who he is, but every one of you has heard his music! He played with Elvis for many years. Never cared much for Elvis until I heard the live stuff in which Burton shreds on his Telecaster. Fender guitars knows who he is, which is why they produced a commemorative James Burton Telecaster.
