Alright, so I need some help and advice. Working on the 1970 Tecumseh H35 that came on my Rupp sprint. Replaced all the gaskets, cleaned it all up, for the life of me I couldn't get the diaphragm carb to work properly so for the time being I swapped on a float carb from a late 80s Tecumseh...
We have the 6.5 engine on it and noticed it running poorly. We have to close the choke valve almost entirely to keep it running. It is turning the back fender black from what I suppose is running too rich. Cleaned the carb no difference. What to do next?
it's already on a bike so it's still a related question I guess.
anyway, I took the engine apart, soaked everything in 2 stroke gas for 24 hours to clean off all the gunk and put it all together with plenty of oil and brand new gaskets.
I got it to crank over a couple times but only on...
Went to put my #6620 ARC Flywheel (OldMiniBikes bought of course) on my Flattie last night and it doesn't clear/fit over the points cover or the mounting bosses with the points cover removed. Didn't see anything here or any web search where anyone has had this problem. I can't be the only one putting...
Ok, I feel like a complete dumb ass right now becaue I just put a new piston/rings in a 3hp I/C bore Briggs FH. I made sure to lube the piston and cylinder up good with 30 weight oil before intalling the piston. Now that the piston is in, when I spin the motor over by hand with the flywheel on...
The recoil I have on this motor doesn't work with this aluminum starter cup.
I think the cup is a very old style (original) and has a lock bolt mounting it to the flywheel.
I'm thinking the recoil is a swapped out unit from a unit with a steel cup.
How in the world will I know which recoil...
About a year ago my buddy bought the so called "over restored" screamer off ebay;after finishing it up and fixing all the cobbled together parts, replacing bearings, cables, etc. it fired right up and the engine runs terrific;it did however have the wrong sprocket on the jackshaft. At the time we...
It runs almost perfectly but when I twist the clutch to accelerate it doesnt engage. It's a tiny motor, only 3 1/2 HP or so! It's always felt underpowered.
(I'm only 130 pounds so it can pull me around!:scooter:
Any help??
Thanks in advance
This is on ebay.
Rupp Mini Bike Clutch and 2-Speed Jackshaft Assy. (NEW) | eBay
To me it looks like a normal clutch mounted on the jack shaft. The sprocket should be mounted to the clutch pad side and not the bell side. It should look like this Comet one.
Am I right??? :shrug...
Hey,
I've seen people say that you need a custom jackshaft for the 7" driven and can't use the regular steel backplate. Could anyone confirm why you can't? I see that the 7" driven comes in 5/8"...
Ok so I was riding my mini earlier for about 20 min..got a few blocks from my house...and it dies. Went to start it, and it starts on the first pull like always. Idles fine all day long but as soon as I even attempt hit the gas it dies. So I got stuck pushing it home. So what do you think, dirt...
I wonder how many of you see things on minibikes
that are not supposed to be there.
Here's a Briggs with what I believe is a Teke exhaust:
.
....It just looks wrong..........
Ever notice when someone is trying to pass off a part here they scavanged, found or dusted off from a shelf they say "$ shipped, if it doesn't sell, I will keep using. it " ?
COME ON!
If you found it its value is only what you can get for it.
If you took it off its because it was now...
Yo dudes!
I picked up a new K&N filter that fit nicely around the stock air filter housing mounting points. In doing the swap, I also removed a ~3 inch rubber tube that connected from a port hole on the engine to the filter housing...
With the new K&N in place, I was unable to get the 2.5...
