2016 Windber raffle bike thoughts

#81
Here's my take on things.
Most people here are not homeless, although my wife threatens to kick me out! We have plenty of toys, and most of us need another minibike like we need a hole in our head. I buy tickets just to see if I COULD win. If I did win, I would donate it back to the charity and perhaps have people bid on it.
It gets way too complicated with someone doing all the buying and assigning. Let's keep this a positive thing!
Good point Eric. If anybody wants tickets, send me your money. I'll text you your numbers when I buy your tickets.

On the Gofundme page there is usually a place you can put your name and a message or just anonymous. I think if someone donated $25 and put a message to read "for raffle" it would be easy to put in raffle tickets for them opposed to a message saying"for donation" which means they are donating and wouldn't get tickets for the raffle. I too would put my name to see if it was pulled but would give it to a youngster there at Windber who stuck it out for the weekend.

I will call Jeff Monday or Wednesday to see how he wants to go about this .Jeff or his wife might have done something like this already. I will let everyone know what his thoughts are on this when I find out. It would raise a lot more money going something like this but myself I'm and idiot on the computer .

I got the frame sand blasted this weekend. Now I need to get it down to Jeff (yankeebears) and Gary(gkitner) for paint and body work. Going with a Chevy HHR victory red for the color on this one. It will be pretty close to original color.

I tried to sew a pattern like that before and it looked like crap. That seat is way too big for that style bike. I actually think that frame takes the small square seat.

Also Karl (not so mini) and I were talking about doing a raffle on a Ghetto Neck tote bag filled with shirts, parts, and anything we get donated and sell tickets at windber and put the $$ towards one of Jeff's charities. Karl came to me with the idea and I agreed. This way if people still wanted to help by donating a small mini bike item they could. Let us know what we can do.

That's a great idea too. Anything that we could do to help the police dept.at windber. This is Jeff's main choice for the donation. The police dept.gives us The escort to town and blocks roads for us to do the parade. Any and all donations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Ray and Carl

 Figured it would be a good way to help ensure we have an event to come back to for years to come. Plus I needed something to keep my wife busy so she wouldn't sell my stuff at a super low price. I swear chad only walked over to buy stuff when I would ride off on my mini bike.

This is the style seat we will be going with. It will be black and white it will set the bike off nice red frame ,white cables and white motor ,black tires on silver rims. It should look great.

Rick dropped off the frame and forks yesterday . There is a little body work to do before painting, but overall this mini bike was in great shape for it's age . I really like the no suspension ARCO's .My brother Gary and I volunteered our help so Rick could concentrate on the rest of the project . Rick does great work of his own and it worked out well on the 1st raffle mini bike we helped with . Mark G also came by to drop off the parts he donated to the project . We had a great time talking mini bikes together . Will update as we go .
