i was looking at filing one down ?instead of buying one , by filing one i think you end up with a key that dosen,t fit the flywheel properly ? need advise ,thanks wayne

the key still fits fine. you're only filing a notch out of the top half of the key.

Key should look like this. Side view about half way is about 8 degs.

The degree key is a place holder.

What kind of noticable difference did you see? I am thinking of doing this since i have a flattop and milled head. My low end power isnt so good. Top end hauls though but i want some more low end umph

i have the gx140 emulsion tube in the carb , advancing the timming , has a lot of low end power ,no powerdelay, imediate reaction to the throttle, easy 15 minute mod ,easier to start ,glad i did it .:wink:
