Almost ready to light it on fire and have a weenie roast!

I am trying to get my build off bike done and I am having all kinds of trouble with the wheels and tires. I had the rims rechromed so I am trying not to scratch anything up. Finally after an hour of struggling I got one tire on and the damn inner tube is leaking. Now I can't get it back apart to fix the tube. I am just about ready to say screw the whole thing!

Well then...welcome to my world! Put a directional tire on backwards one time ...took me over an hour of intense wrestling to get it on a powder coated 10" wheel. It gets easier the second time! Trust me!

Well, here is what happened. I put a hole in the inner tube when I put the tire one. Got it off, went to the store and got a patch kit. Patched the tube and started over. Finally finished one tire and it holds air. I managed to keep the damage to the wheel at one small scratch and a small bit of chrome taken off along the edge where the tire seats. It makes me angry but I guess it could have been worse. I can't tackle the other tire until Tuesday because I am waiting on one spoke. Hopefully I can get the rest together and install the tire by the deadline. Hopefully everyone will be able to see me ride it in the dark!

Ever see these? I never used them I just see them all the time due to a certian search I use on ebay, was thinking about slicing some clear tubing sections and try it next time I had to mess with a spoked wheel.

Thanks markus nice find. I got mostly spoked rims and the 10 inch rims are a beast to deal wit! I feel this guy. Not the new CHROME!!!!!

I had to remove a tire form my Honda Trail CT110 last week to replace the tube and tried Armor All since that was the closest thing I could find in the barn and it worked like magic and now the tire is shiny to boot!
Worked better than the hand soap trick.
YMMV
