Comet 40 Belt Help needed

Hello I am trying to figure out what size belt I am going to need for my Comet 40 driver going to my Horstman driven clutch system. the Horstman is 7 1/2" in diameter and the distance from the center of the crank shaft to center of the driven clutch is 13 1/8. I read that I need a symmetric belt with a 7-8" top width. The closest I can find is this:

BELT 204331A
Center Distance 13 3/4

Will the difference in the belt size matter? I can tighten it up just a touch by moving the bearing back. I just don't want to waste the $ on the belt if it is not going to work properly and I don't know what the tolerance is on the Comet 40. Thanks!

40 Series Comet Torque Converter Belt: Go Kart Parts: Racing Karts: Engines: Frames: Tires: Tips: Kits: Torque Maybe you could move the motor forward. I usually replace the front oil drain plug with a Allen head plug so it fits flush with the block. Proper belt fit effects performance.

Good thought on moving the engine, I didn't even think of that :doah: I will see if I can cheat the bearings back and the engine forward. I am going to give the 204331A belt a shot. I will post if it works out. Thanks!
